Python developers at Exebenus contribute to Machine Learning (ML) related products for optimizing upstream activities in the Oil & Gas sector; this primarily includes building and maintaining products, as well as new microservices to extend functionality of the existing products. Exebenus’ ML products are primarily targeted at Drilling & Completions on the rig, for example by providing early warnings of risk factors which could lead to non-productive time, or optimizing drilling performance and safety.

The responsibilities of the Python developer are as follows:

1. Development of new microservices and/or web applications to support expansion of Exebenus’ suite of ML products in a scalable and modular manner.
2. Building reliable data pipelines, including pre-processing data and quality-control, as well as managing and interacting with relevant databases
3. Primarily backend development
4. Manage and contribute to Exebenus Data Science proprietary codebase.
5. Work with software development team during product implementations.
   
   

Qualifications: 

• BSc (or equivalent) degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or similar.
• Demonstrable Python programming experience
• Solid understanding of software development patterns and associated concepts
• Good understanding of development practices, such as unit & integration testing.
• Familiarity with microservice architectures
• Understanding of interfaces, such as REST-ful APIs
• Familiarity with cloud-computing ecosystems and tools, distributed computing concepts, containerization (Docker).
• Experience with SQL-type (relational), NoSQL databases etc,

Data Scientists (DS) at Exebenus contribute to all aspects of Machine Learning (ML) related activities for optimizing upstream activities in the Oil & Gas sector; these primarily include product development,  and R&D projects, but also client-facing projects and supporting sales processes in the Americas. Exebenus’ ML products are primarily targeted at Drilling & Completions on the rig, for example by providing early warnings of stuck pipe risk, or optimizing drilling efficiency.

 As Exebenus is a growing company, it is preferred that a DS can contribute across the full spectrum of work required for developing and selling cloud-based ML products into the key Americas target market, which includes both technical and client-facing aspects.

The responsibilities of the Data Scientist are as follows:

1. Develop and validate methodologies for new ML products for Exebenus’ cloud-based SaaS offering.
2. Explore and curate datasets which underpin ML products
3. Contribute to Research & Development projects to support/augment all Exebenus products.
4. Build prototypes and commercial software components implementing methodologies for new products.
5. Manage and contribute to Exebenus Data Science proprietary codebase.
6. Collaborate with software development team during product implementations, specify software requirements.
7. Contribute to consultancy projects with global clients, as well as software Trials and Pilots.
8. Support on-site implementations with North American customers, gather customer feedback to iteratively improve models & products, and inspire new projects.
9. Author or contribute to technical papers for journals/conferences.
10. Represent Exebenus as a speaker at technical conferences.
    
    

Qualifications: 

• BSc (or equivalent) degree or higher in Statistics, Physics, Geophysics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Econometrics or similar.
• Evidence of academic excellence, such as published work in peer-reviewed journals within a highly technical subject area.
• Experience working with real-world data, preferably from upstream Oil & Gas operations, experimental research, real-time sensors, financial markets etc. 
• US citizenship or permanent residency required.
